Christian Education Opportunities
The Board of Christian Education is responsible for the organization and administration of the educational programs of the church. The board is comprised of the Pastor, Youth Pastor, Sunday School Superintendent, and members of the church. They have various responsibilities such as the overseeing of Sunday School Classes, Vacation Bible School, Children's Sermons, and Nursery Schedules. Sunday School. Classes meet at 9:15 a.m. every Sunday. There are 11 classes - 6 for children and 5 for adults. They offer an age appropriate curriculum with related music, art, activities, and role-play .
- 2, 3, 4, and 5 year olds: Introduces the Bible stories to the children. Teaches moral values in the lessons. Watch videos, play games and crafts toward the lessons. Primary/1st and 2nd graders: Continue to learn more about the Bible stories through lessons. Middlers/3rd and 4th graders: Learn how to use their Bibles. 3rd graders are given Bibles on Promotion Sunday. Juniors/ 5th and 6th graders: Continue to learn how to use the Bible. Junior High/7th and 8th graders: Youth Pastor teaches the class about true-life situations through Bible lessons. Senior High/Grades 9-12: Through Bible lessons the kids learn about life situations - role-play, videos, etc. Good Samaritan Class: Pastor teaches the class. There is group discussion with the lesson and a question and answer time. Bible Fellowship Class: Russell Strunk, teacher - in depth Bible study - ages 50+ Upwards Class: Rotate teachers. The class follows a curriculum for their Bible Study - age 40+ years Pairs & Spares Class: Dennis Meister, teacher - Senior group of couples and singles. Follows a curriculum for their Bible Study.
- Fidelis Class: Diana Satchwill, teacher. Class of senior ladies. Follows curriculum for their Bible Study.
Fellowship Time from 8:45 AM. till 9:15 AM with doughnuts and drinks offered. It is a time to socialize with friends. Promotion & Recognition Sunday is celebrated at the beginning of the school year. The children are promoted to the next class and each child is given a certificate. The children entering 3rd grade are given a Bible as encouragement to study the Bible. The teachers are also recognized at this time for their hard work. Vacation Bible School . One week during the summer. We meet in the evenings for 2-_ hours. We have classes from ages 3 to teens. The kids enjoy drama , music , crafts , lessons and snacks . At the end of the week we have a gathering for all students and their families to join together for food, fun, games and fellowship . Children's Sermon. every Sunday during the church service. The Pastor or Youth Pastor tell a story and ask questions of the children. Listening to their answers is always a joy to hear!
Nursery. is provided during the regular church service. It is staffed by Adults who volunteer their time. |
